Across Texas, education leaders are solving complex challenges that require collaboration, creativity, and trust. At LONESTARP3, that collective action across our members and their constituency drives everything we do. As we build on the momentum of our start-up phase, we’re launching a new membership model to strengthen our network—one that connects ideas, people, and possibilities to drive lasting improvements for students, families, and communities in Texas.
Built on Partnership and Purpose
LONESTARP3 membership isn’t a “sit and get” experience. Members actively shape the direction and priorities of our shared research and mobilize their constituencies based on our findings. Our membership principles convey the commitments members make to each other, as well as our shared commitment to representing and serving the varied communities and contexts across Texas.
Clarity and Accountability:
Clear commitments and reciprocal benefits keep members aligned and accountable to one another.
Influence Aligned with Commitments:
Each member’s practice, policy, and data partners inform our research—and act on its results.
Intentional Representation:
Defined structures ensure members reflect Texas’s diverse institutions, geographies, and communities.
Access and Connection:
Belonging to the network strengthens each member’s reach and reputation—amplifying our collective impact.
Three Membership Categories. One Shared Mission.
While LONESTARP3 launched as a coalition of the willing, our new model provides clarity on the benefits and expectations of members, renewing commitment from its founding members, and providing needed clarity for prospective members.
We’ve defined three categories of membership, each designed to welcome a range of organizations while maintaining clear pathways for collaboration and growth among all.
Core Members
The backbone of LONESTARP3 – Research-practice-policy partnerships (RPPs) and collective impact organizations that commit to representing both their home institutions and their regional constituencies. They help set the network’s agenda, lead collaborative research, and disseminate findings that drive statewide action. Core Members gain increased visibility, invitation for member-only in-person events, eligibility for funding to support research and publications, and opportunities to serve in governance roles.
Contributing Members
Include a wide range of organization policy advocates, intermediaries, professional associations, and research and data entities who share common goals and outcomes for student and communities in Texas. They both inform and amplify LONESTARP3’s work—sharing effective practices, shaping research priorities, and mobilizing their networks in response to findings. Contributing Members receive recognition for their leadership and contributions, invitations for member-only in-person events, consideration for funds to participate in research efforts, and opportunities to serve in governance roles.
Connector Members
Individuals or organizations aligned with LONESTARP3’s mission and values who want to stay engaged and informed. Connectors gain access to digital communications, virtual sessions, and livestream events—joining a growing community united by a shared vision for educational improvement across Texas.
Joining a Movement for Impact
Membership in LONESTARP3 means becoming part of something bigger: a collective of thinkers and doers committed to translating research into action. Together, our members aim to strengthen the connections between data, policy, and practice—turning influence into impact for Texas communities. Whether you’re a researcher, policy advocate, or education leader, there’s a place for you and your perspective in our network.
